Welcome to the University of Plymouth Hockey Club! Established in 1970, we have gone from strength to strength to now be one of the University"s biggest and most successful clubs competing against some of the best clubs in the country.

We offer 4 Men's teams affiliated to the Devon Hockey Association, playing in Premier Division 3, South 2 and 2 teams in South West District 1 respectively of the Davis Wood Hockey League. We also offer 2 Men's teams in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Leagues, playing in the BUCS Western Conference 1A and Western Conference 4A. We also enter all 3 teams into the Devon Cup and Devon Trophy every year, winning the Devon Cup and being Devon Trophy runners up in 2008.

As for the ladies, they offer 3 teams with the 1st XI competing in Trelawny 1, the 2nd XI competing in Trelawny 2 and with the 3rd XI playing in Plymouth and District. They also have 2 teams in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Leagues, also playing in Western Conference 2A and Western Conference 4A. And in the 2009-2010 season the 1st XI won the Western Conference Cup in a convincing win over Cardiff University.






The two Clubs also socialise together, holding plenty of socials throughout the season, from the Christmas Ball to a three-legged pub crawl, as well as various fundraising events!

We train and play our League home fixtures at Lipson Community College, and our BUCS home fixtures at Bull Point. Training is held every Monday night, Ladies from 6:30-8 and Men from 8-9:30pm and is open to all students of the University of Plymouth and associated colleges, as well as non-students (only eligible to play League fixtures).

We are a successful and friendly club welcoming all levels of hockey, whether you are looking at trying a new and exciting sport or are looking to continue playing hockey during your time at University.

Club sign up is held at the beginning of Term 1 during the Universities Sports and Societies Fair which usually takes place sometime in the first two weeks of October.
